General question about investment & remaining on dating sites after you've met someone:

I have met someone through a dating site & we are casually trying things on a month or so later. Neither of us have talked about exclusivity or taking things further (in my case the jury is still out) but part of the reason it is out is because his profile is still up & active. This bothers me yet I don't feel comfortable saying so. I think a lot of folks are addicted to the internet & the next dating fix. I further think that when things go really well on a date it seems to encourage men to want to stay around on whatever site they are on because they assume there are more like me! :-D So is the general rule of thumb communication? Is chivalry dead? I don't feel like I should have to bring this up to the guy. I feel like his activity online is going to be the reason we don't continue, though. What would you suggest?
